Underestimated power
Thanks to the women friends in my life: specifically, J.S., L.M., M.M. and S.D.! They should know who they are....(right ladies)? I have been having an especially difficult week and because of their compassion, support and listening ears, I am feeling much better. One of the incidences: we were to have a playdate with our kiddies and I called the host to say I probably wasn't coming due to my "child" having some tantrums and just not "cooperating" (i.e., napping only a short while in the car, throwing food, smearing beans in her hair, screaming, crying)...you know the drill. When actually, it was me that was having a rough time dealing with daughter's behavior and feeling isolated. So, instead of sulking at home for the afternoon, I got my butt in the car and went to the playdate, shared my frustrations and vented a bit. Wow, did I feel better after I left! I don't think they know to the extent they were able to help me, but I want to send out my thanks.
Thanks again, my friends. I hope to someday return the favor!

it's so hard having kids sometimes. at least when they're tiny newborns you can make 'em do what you want (although there's the other side of the coin, sleepless nights, long crying jags without an end in sight, losing your identity completely because all you do is feed, clothe, change, and hold a baby. but i digress...)
we moms know what it's like and will always understand. there are times when you need space and to be alone to get through the stress of being a mother and there are times when you need your girlfriends... =)
Thanks for being there, girlfriend!
